an impersonal penpal

At the moment, I'm seriously ticked off with one of my penpals. I smiled when I saw Charlene's name on the envelope, but my smile vanished when I looked at a form letter, instead of a personal one. Gah! I know she's busy, but why couldn't she have waited 'til some free time cleared up, and written a personal letter to me? I don't think form letters should be sent out to penpals. They're impersonal, and give the impression that the writer doesn't really care about the lives of her friends. I want to be friends with penpals, share stories about my life, and mention my interests. I would appreciate it if the other person truly cared about what I had to say, instead of being distant and impersonal. When I do write to Charlene again, I'll ask her to send FBs to me (She no longer wants them), but no more form letters. After that though, I doubt we'll remain penpals for much longer.
